AVOMERU Group Limited is a social enterprise incorporated in 2017 to make high end avocado oil from under utilised avocado fruits, with a declared objective of creating additional income for its many small scale out growers.
We partner directly with over 8,400 smallholder farmers across Tanzania, purchasing second and third grade avocados that would otherwise go to waste and turning them into premium crude avocado oil. Alongside this, our Mtwara facility runs a separate line: high quality Cashew Shell Nut Liquid (CSNL), pressed from cashew nut shells rather than avocados.
Beyond product, we create impact: generating fair income, building local capacity, protecting the environment and contributing to healthier, stronger communities.
Our crude avocado oil is produced from carefully selected second and third grade avocados. Using a cold pressed process, we preserve the natural goodness and quality of the fruit, rich in nutrients, mild in taste, ideal for food, cosmetics and industrial applications.
We also produce Cashew Shell Nut Liquid (CSNL), a versatile, natural liquid derived from cashew nut shells, widely used in resins, coatings, friction materials, rubber, adhesives and more.
From our facilities in Makambako and Mtwara, we process natural resources into high quality products, close to where they grow, close to the people we serve.
Makambako is strategically located near Tanzania's main avocado growing areas in the Southern Highlands. Its proximity to thousands of smallholder farmers allows AVOMERU to process second and third grade avocados quickly after harvest, reducing food waste while creating an additional source of income for local farming communities.
Located at the heart of one of Tanzania's key cashew growing regions, Mtwara gives AVOMERU direct access to a large and reliable supply of cashew shells. Processing close to the source reduces transport, creates local employment and turns an agricultural byproduct into a valuable, sustainable industrial raw material.
